Green Initiatives

In Conyers, we are extremely concerned about the future of the world’s environment and we are committed to implementing options that incorporate sustainable, green initiatives.

The City of Conyers' team of department representatives continually reviews new technologies that are environmentally friendly. We are working with residents and businesses to promote sustainable technologies that are proven to have a positive impact on the environment. We continue to do what environmentally is right for Conyers while, at the same time, having a positive impact on the world’s environment.

Some successful projects of the Conyers Green Team include:

  • Working with Georgia Power on an audit of all City of Conyers government facilities
  • Installing programmable thermostats in city government facilities and setting water heaters in all buildings at a standard temperature
  • Participating in the Great American Cleanup
  • Hosting a booth at the Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival and making wildflower seedballs to disperse and germinate at the Big Haynes Creek Nature Center
