Motor Freight Services: Metro Atlanta is serviced by five interstate and 34 inter/intrastate carriers. I-20 is the interstate thoroughfare that links Conyers to metro Atlanta.

Overnight package delivery: Federal Express, U.P.S. Airborne, and a number of other couriers serve the area.

Bus Service: Greyhound Bus Line

Railroads: Norfolk Southern offers piggyback service at Atlanta. CSX offers rail service at Conyers and piggyback service from Atlanta.

Airports: The nearest commercial air service is out of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Approximately 30 airlines serve this airport. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is approximately 32 miles from Conyers. A public airport is located in Covington in Newton County. The Covington Municipal Airport has a 4,200-foot bituminous runway. Some of the service and navigational aids include: aircraft tie down, airframe, and power plant repair, hanger, and lighted runway. Covington Municipal Airport is approximately 20 miles from Conyers.

Waterway: The nearest commercial river, Chattahoochee, has a maintained nine-foot channel depth and a public barge dock at Columbus, which is 116 miles away. The nearest seaport is 236 miles away at Savannah, which has a maintained 42-foot channel depth.

Electricity: Rockdale County is a part of Georgia's modern integrated electrical transmission system, which assures long-term continuity. Coal accounts for 84 percent of fuel used by the state's power generating plants, million gallons. Storage capacity is 1.5 million gallons elevated and 1.5 million gallons ground.

Water/Sewer: Rockdale Water Resources handles the water in Rockdale County at the Randy Poynter Lake plant. The plant is able to treat up to 22 million gallons of water per day and can be expanded to treat more in the future. The reservoir can supply 22 million gallons of potable water per day to residential and commercial use. Consumption averages 8-9 million gallons per day, with peak consumption reaching 12 million gallons. Storage capacity is 1.5 million gallons elevated and 1.5 million gallons ground.

Waste Water Treatment: Rockdale Water Resources handles the area's water. Wastewater treatment capacity is 8.54 million gallons per day, with usage at 4.83 million gallons per day.

Solid Waste Disposal: The plant capacity is 4,500,000 gallons per day. The plant load is 4,000,000 gallons per day. Rockdale has an excellent ability to supply industrial demands.

Natural Gas: Natural gas is supplied by the Atlanta Gas Light Company and is available in industrial quantities on an interruptible basis.

Telecommunications: BellSouth and Comcast are the local exchange providers of telecommunications in Rockdale County. With virtually all the central offices equipped with digital switches, Rockdale County customers have the latest in telecommunications. Fiber optics is present throughout the county, as well. The interoffice network is 100 percent fiber, which provides self-healing environment and will reroute telecommunications traffic should there be a disaster in the area.
