Active Shooter/Threat Preparedness Training

Conyers Police Department is again offering active shooter/threats preparedness training to citizens interested in learning how to best react to such an incident.  Due to recent tragic events, the Conyers Police Department has received requests to host another session.  Unfortunately, the police are not the first responders to the scene, citizens are. The goal of this training is to educate citizens on where to go, what to do, and what they should be prepared to do should they find themselves in the area of an active shooter or other threat. Conyers Police School Resource Officer Troy Quick will be on hand to answer questions and concerns about school safety.

The session is scheduled for Tuesday, March 6th at 7 p.m. and will last approximately one hour and a half. The session will be held in the City Council Chambers, 1194 Scott Street SE Conyers, GA. Email Lieutenant Greg Carson, for additional information.  Please leave your name, phone number, and how many are attending. Teens and adults are welcome and you do not have to be a Rockdale resident.

“In today’s climate we realize the importance of training not only our officers, but educating our citizens as well,” explains Chief Gene Wilson. “We had great success launching this program last two years and are pleased to offer it once again.”
