38th Annual Olde Town Fall Festival
Fall brings Conyers’ longest-running festival, the 38th edition of the Olde Town Fall Festival, to be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Coordinated by the city of Conyers, the festival draws residents and visitors to historic Olde Town for a day of browsing among artists, crafters, food vendors, local merchants and non-profit organizations in Olde Town Conyers.
“From woodworking and jewelry to baked goods and crocheted items, there is a fantastic variety of vendors lined up for this year’s festival,” said Sandy Fowler Daniels, event coordinator for Olde Town Conyers. “Started by the Rockdale County Historical Society in 1980, the city proudly continues this tradition of fall fun in the streets of Olde Town.”
The Olde Town Fall Festival features two stages of entertainment (on Railroad Street at the Conyers Depot and in the Olde Town Pavilion), arts and crafts vendors, a variety of food and children’s activities and a number of local non-profit organizations eager to share their individual missions to serve Conyers and Rockdale County.
The Olde Town Fall Festival takes place on Center, Commercial and Railroad Streets and those streets will be closed to traffic beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20 until approximately 6:00 p.m. that evening. Streets will reopen for vendors to vacate the area and then Commercial Street will close again for the city’s Open Streets event with dining, entertainment and games throughout the evening.
The Conyers Police Department and Rockdale County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department will be on hand for fun safety activities. A children’s area with trackless train rides, a pumpkin patch in the Randal S. Mills City Center Park, food court, and more than 80 vendors selling jewelry, baked goods, soaps, artwork, food, knitting/crocheted pieces, woodworking, wreaths and floral arrangements will be on hand.
Entertainment scheduled to make appearances include: Dominy School of the Performing Arts, Conyers Dance Ensemble, Fantastic Falcons Music Club of C.J. Hicks Elementary School, Pine Street Elementary Singers, Kids in Step, Michelle’s Fun Fitness, Bruce Hitchcock and the Wild Unknown, Takiya Mason, Mixed Genes and Logan Daniels. The entertainment schedule is subject to change.
Costume contests for kids, adults and pets with prizes in several categories sponsored by Awake Media will take place on the Conyers Depot stage at 12:00 p.m.
Admission and parking for the festival are free. For more information, an updated entertainment schedule and list of vendors, visit www.oldetownfallfestival.com or call the Conyers Welcome Center at 770-602-2606.
