"Hope" Trees Light Up Olde Town Conyers
Roger and Leslie Grant, owners of Grant Lawn and Décor Services, Inc., have wrapped a series of trees on Commercial Street in historic Olde Town Conyers in red, white and blue as symbols of hope for the Conyers and Rockdale community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Grants, active in the Conyers and Rockdale business community and specialists in landscape lighting residentially and commercially, approached the city of Conyers about volunteering to wrap and light the series of crape myrtles on Commercial Street as a way to symbolize the resilient, patriotic spirit of not only the American people, but the people of Conyers and Rockdale County.
"This is our way of encouraging everyone to stay the course and maintain healthy habits so we are able to come through stronger than before on the other side of this," said Leslie Grant.
Mayor Vince Evans expressed his thanks to the Grants for their contribution to brightening the community's landscape and spirits.
"In these tough times, we could all use a little more light and these trees provide just that--a hopeful light in the darkness that I know will lead to better times ahead," said Mayor Evans.
