Conyers Police Accepting Applications for Reserve Unit
The Conyers Police Department (CPD) welcomes applications for the Reserve Unit. The CPD is seeking retired, certified or previously certified law enforcement officers interested in volunteering their time to special events, patrol operations, the investigation division, or any other law enforcement function here in Conyers. The Conyers Police Reserve Unit gives individuals the opportunity to give back to one's community and get back into the police force without committing to a full time position.
An officer in the Reserve Unit may serve in any capacity within the department. The officer is fully outfitted by the department to include weapons, uniform, ballistic vest and other equipment. All that is required is 8 hours a month of volunteer time and to keep up with training hours. All Reserve officers receive the same training as employed personnel.
“The camaraderie between the reserve officers and the rest of the department is excellent here,” says Debbi Krisher, a reserve officer since 1998. “We are treated as equals and enjoy giving back to our community and helping the department.”
