All Rockdale County public and private schools were invited to participate in the "Dinky Parade." Each school will be given a wooden 3ft. X 31/2 ft. cut-out of Dinky to decorate any way they wish. The trains will be on display the day of the festival in front of stores in Olde Town. There will be two competitions associated with the Dinky Parade.
o The first competition in the Dinky Parade will be the People's Choice Awards in which festival visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite train. The ballots will be counted toward the end of the festival and a winner will be announced. The winning train will be placed on display in the Olde Town Gallery & Studio window during the week following the festival and the wininng school will receive a ribbon and certificate.
o The second competition in the Dinky Parade will be the juried vote. A panel of judges will vote to determine which school from the elementary, middle and high school levels will receive a trophy for their train design. The winning school from each level will take their trophies back to their school and earn bragging rights for the achievement.
