What is Shop with a Cop?

Shop with a Cop is a program created by the Conyers Police Department, in collaboration with the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Department of Public Safety, in which law enforcement personnel accompany children from families experiencing financial hardships to the Conyers Wal-Mart to shop for Christmas gifts.

Since the program began in 2007, approximately 1,200 children have benefitted from Shop with a Cop.

Is my child eligible to participate?

Applications for children to participate in Shop with a Cop will be made available in November 2020. Applicants will undergo a screening process and will be contacted if accepted into this year's program. All children must be in grades kindergarten through fifth grade and be enrolled in Rockdale County Public Schools.

When is Shop with a Cop?

Shop with a Cop typically takes place the third Saturday in December at the Conyers Wal-Mart.

How can I help?

We're glad you asked! From volunteers to donations for items for goodie bags to breakfast, we welcome any and all donations. Please contact Sergeant Shyra Hardwick if you're interested in volunteering or donating items for the Shop with a Cop day.

Financial donations are also appreciated. The more money donated, the more children we can help!

For your convenience, donate online below (link coming soon!) or cash and check donations (made payable to the City of Conyers or Shop with a Cop) and Wal-Mart gift cards can be dropped off at the Conyers Police Department, 1194 Scott Street.
