Conyers’ St. Patrick’s Day celebration brings Irish spirit, family fun, and friendly shenanigans to Olde Town Conyers.
Olde Town Conyers will turn green with Irish pride on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, as the World’s Fastest Growing St. Patrick’s Day Parade steps off promptly at 5:00 p.m.
A beloved Conyers tradition since 1980, the two-block walking parade will be led by Grand Marshal Mayor Connie Alsobrook, accompanied by a lively bagpiper playing classic Irish tunes. Local businesses, community organizations, school groups, and residents are invited to join the fun. Participants should gather at the corner of Main and Center streets by 4:45 p.m. for lineup, with a 5:00 p.m. start time. For safety and fun, no vehicles are allowed in the parade. The event will take place rain or shine, barring severe weather.
Guests are encouraged to dress in their most creative and festive Irish attire. Following the parade, the crowd favorite contests will take place on Commercial Street to include the recognition of:
- Children’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade King and Queen
- Best Dressed Pet
- Adult Leprechaun Lookalike Contest Winner
The celebration continues on the main stage with live entertainment, followed by the fan favorite World’s Shortest Endurance Run at 6:00 p.m., kicked off with a ceremonial shotgun start. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Rockdale County, this playful 0.1-mile run stretches from The Pointe to the Conyers Welcome Center on Railroad Street. Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, and registration is still open. Interested participants can see a Rotary member, visit online at https://rockdalerotary.org/, or pick up an application at the Conyers Welcome Center, 901 Railroad Street.
“St. Patrick’s Day in Olde Town is all about community, laughter, and a little bit of Irish mischief,” said Olde Town Event Coordinator Shertekia ‘Teka’ DiNardo. “We’re declaring green our favorite color on March 17, so come dressed in your Irish best and be ready for music, fun, and friendly shenanigans!”
At 6:30 p.m., Commercial Street will remain closed for the Celtic Tavern Street Party, bringing live music, festive food, and plenty of Irish cheer to wrap up the evening.
