Mayor Connie Alsobrook 

Connie Alsobrook was first elected to the Conyers City Council in 2019. In 2025, she resigned to run for mayor and was elected on November 4, 2025. She took office as the first female and Black mayor of the city of Conyers on January 7, 2026. She is the thirty-third mayor of the city of Conyers, bringing a lifelong commitment to public service, community engagement, and inclusive leadership.

Prior to being elected mayor, Alsobrook served five years on the Conyers City Council, chairing the Public Safety and Georgia International Horse Park committees. During this time, she worked collaboratively to strengthen public safety, and ensured responsible governance that serves each resident, regardless of neighborhood or background.

Mayor Alsobrook is a graduate of Gwinnett College of Business (1998) and a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she completed paralegal studies in 2023.

Mayor Alsobrook is a community advocate. Her professional background includes business consulting, youth life coach, author, paralegal, and small business owner. She has a practical, hands-on understanding of the needs of families, entrepreneurs, and seniors across the city.

As mayor, her vision for Conyers centers on equity, transparency, economic opportunity, thoughtful growth and civic trust. She is committed to ensuring that all residents have access to the same resources and opportunities, fostering responsible growth, and strengthening partnerships across the region.

Mayor Alsobrook believes that when leadership listens and works together, Conyers can continue to be a city where people are proud to live, work, and raise a family.
