Connie Alsobrook was first elected to the Conyers City Council in 2019. In 2025, she resigned to run for mayor and was elected on November 4, 2025. She took office as the first Black and female mayor of the city of Conyers on January 7, 2026. She is the thirty-third mayor of the city of Conyers.
