Olde Town Conyers LCI Planning Study
Project Overview
The City of Conyers is embarking on an effort to update its Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Plan. Much has changed since the City's last LCI plan was completed in 2001. With the development of the Rockdale County Judicial and Administrative Complex, other planned development, and Conyers' growing reputation and role as a beloved filming location, the City of Conyers understands the need for an updated study to shape a future that best serves current and future residents, businesses, and visitors. An updated plan shaped by public input and best practices in urban design, landscape architecture, community planning, and real estate analysis will help guide the intentional growth of Olde Town.
Funding for this study is provided through the Atlanta Regional Commission's LCI program, which awards federal grants to foster the development of vibrant, walkable places that offer increased mobility options, encourage healthy lifestyles, and provide improved access to jobs and services.
Key Objectives
- A community-informed future vision for Olde Town
- Reinforce a celebrated community identity through creative placemaking, public art, historic preservation, and community programming
- Improve multimodal connectivity between the study area's commercial core, civic spaces, established neighborhoods, and public gathering areas
- Reimagine catalytic sites for economic development, business growth and retention, and housing that balance contemporary needs with Olde Town's traditional scale and character
- Enhance the greenspace network through improved open space and the introduction of green infrastructure to aid in stormwater management while adding vibrancy to Olde Town

Project Kick-Off
Come join us at Celebration Park on Friday, September 18, at 5:30 p.m. to learn about the Olde Town Conyers Planning Study, then stick around for a screening of "Encanto" for Movie in the Park!
